The night air was still in an almost eerie kind of way as Demetrius sat in his room trying to figure out what to do about his little problem. The Lycan was none too pleased he had managed to spawn an atrocity, it went against everything he believed in. Half Lycan, Half Malkavian. It was almost as bad as a Half Vampire Half Lycan. It made his skin crawl to think he could have spawned this person, and if he was truthful, it scared him too. He knew this Chi could become extremely powerful, with Lycan and Malkavian blood it was certainly a cause for worry and one that needed attending too. A bang on the door caused Demetrius to snap out of his own little dreamland, “What do you want?” He commanded, clearly irritated this person had not waited for him to permit them entrance into his room. “Sir, the fighting’s getting worse. More Vampires have come so we have sent out more Lycans naturally on the field, but theres a problem.” It couldn’t be that the Vampires were wiping out so many all at once, so Demetrius stood up and told the boy to tell him what was happening, “Someone, I don’t know who, has shown up. A young girl by the looks of things, more over she’s a Malkavian, powerful too and some people have said they got a scent of Lycan blood in her. We don’t know who she is but she’s taking out Vampires and Lycans alike. She’s too strong for us to handle ourselves and our forces are taking a massive beating.” Demetrius looked the guy in the eye, it had to be Chi. This was the perfect opportunity for him to deal with his problem, make it look like she had simply been caught in the crossfire and make it so Akira couldn’t trace it back to him. “I’ll deal with it. Tell the forces to continue their advance on the Vampires and let them know im on my way to deal with the female.”
With a nod, the boy left and Demetrius went to his window and looked out of it. Today was the day he killed his own daughter. Changing shape, his body gained his signature white fur and his bones stretched. With a howl, he jumped out of the window and landed firmly on his feet his nose in the air, trying to catch a scent that matched both his and Akira’s. Once the scent filled his nose, the Lycan bounded towards the battlefield, arrows flying towards him by unskilled Vampires which he easily evaded, a sword clashed with his back, making him howl in pain. He connected his paw with the Vampires face and split open the side of his head, and with his fangs, he buried them deep into the Vampires skull, killing it instantly. Foul creatures! He thought angrily to himself as Lycans began covering Demetrius. Fools! Protect yourself, I don’t need your protection!
Within ten minutes, Demetrius had found Chi and was circling her. She looked a bit nervous at the sight of the Lycan in front of her. Though it was easy for people to be afraid of Demetrius, his cruelty knew no bounds. She pulled out her weapon in an attempt to defend herself from Demetrius’ inevitable attack. Lunging forward a couple of times, missing her on purpose, almost like he was testing her, Demetrius gave a wolf like laugh. This was certainly worth the wait, however she wasn’t screaming which made it less fun on his part. Fun’s over child. He thought to himself, as he bounded, she lashed out but he was easily able to knock the weapon away from her. His front paws pinned her down to the ground and he gave a very wolf like smile. With no warning, Demetrius bit down on her shoulder, still she didn’t scream. His claws ripped into her torso, still she didn’t scream as he gave her deadly wounds. This was more disappointing than he thought, as her blood trickled into his mouth and down his throat. A rush of images came to his mind, the baby Chi, how much she looked like Demetrius. Akira and Chi struggling to survive, Chi wanting to know her father. Everything that happened to her, both good and bad filled his minds eye and he could feel the emotions she felt in every single one of these images. His own eyes welled up at the thought of what he had just done. Demetrius had never felt guilty about anything he ever did before, and this was the first time. He killed his own daughter, and he felt bad about it. A weakness he would never admit he had. His teeth came away from the girls shoulder and he looked down at her. She was smiling, looking at him with sad puppy dog eyes, which looked a lot like his own, but she was smiling. She opened her mouth and the Lycan jumped back a little bit. He didn’t know what power she had, for all he knew she could be a fire breather. “Im glad I could see you…. Just once… Dad” She uttered, even now after he had killed her, she was happy she met her good for nothing father. Standing up, he Howled into the night air, a loud and blood curdling howl which he knew would catch Akira’s attention. He felt bad about what he had done, and almost as though he was seeking Akira’s forgiveness, which he would never receive for he had done far too much to her, he howled into the night air to tell her that her daughter was injured.
Rushing off, he got back into the Manor and changed back to his human form. His breath was ragged as a single tear rolled down the Lycans face. “What have I done?” He asked. It was his fault, all of this. The war, the deaths, the lies and the deceit and for the first time in his long life. He was questioning himself. If he hadn’t started this war, maybe things could have been different, no, things would be different and people would be happier. But he had started it, and now, he would have to live with it. The memories of Chi will always haunt him, wiping away the tear which rolled down his cheek, Demetrius splashed his face with ice cold water. “This is not me.” He said quietly, before repeating the phrase a lot louder and smashing the sink. Sinking down onto the cold bathroom floor, Demetrius sat there and for the first time, and the last time, he allowed himself to mourn the deaths of the people he had sworn to protect. The people he had killed, for now he realised, he had killed everyone who had died, Lycan or Vampire, since he was the one who started this war.
