The abandoned research facility never seemed like it was important to Demetrius so he had no idea why he found himself here tonight. As he was leaving the Manor, one of the younger Lycans, Alexandrou, or at least Demetrius thought that was his name, had asked him where he was going, though poiltely called him sir, though that didnt matter Demetrius still snapped and told the lad to never call him that again. After he had calmed down, Demetrius told Alexandrou where he was going and the young pup was eager to join him, though Demetrius said no, he wasnt sure why he was going there and a young Lycan who had not yet learnt the ropes properly would only slow him down. He knew Alexandrou was eager to prove himself in the hopes Demetrius would send him out more often. Demetrius knew why, he wanted to get revenge on that Vampire sister of his, Antonia he was sure Alexandrou had said, though Demetrius sat him down and told him a vengeful Lycan was a careless Lycan and it would get him killed, if not others.
His nose was in the air, sniffing the outer area of the research facility, his dirty white fur gleamed in the moonlight as his giant paws came up to the window. His silver eyes narrowed and he snarled, seemingly at his own reflection, it was an instinct of Demetrius' to snarl wherever possible, his paws left the window as he returned on all fours and began to trot around the sides. Lycans could walk easily enough on their two hind legs, but they were faster and quieter when on all fours. His nose was still in the air, sniffing, his ears stood high listening to the sounds of the abandoned research facility. He could hear rats inside, eugh, Demetrius hated rats.
Once around the side, there was a big metal door, no handle on the outside it was obviously an open-from-the-inside door. Though this didnt bother Demetrius, he was strong enough to open it anyway. Standing on his hind legs he got his claws into the top and bent it over, reaching a long arm through the gap he pushed on the handle in the door, snarling all the way through this as the door gave a click and swung open.
The Lycan stepped inside and began sniffing once more, the smell was strong in here. A mix of sweat, chemicals and god knows what else. The place wasnt completley empty, it was just void of things like incriminating evidence. Demetrius could tell by the smell of the chemicals that they had been doing something else here, something they werent supposed to, though he didnt have time to ponder on it as another smell caught his nose.
Vampire.
So he wasnt alone was he not. Now really annoyed he gave yet another snarl and walked forwards, going steady and quietly he pushed open the other door. Giving another sniff he sensed it was coming from the room opposite him, taking no chances he took a quick look who it was.
Leather. Dark Hair. Lean Figure. Determined Expression. Obviously Alexandria, how many more Lords was Demetrius going to run into tonight exactly?
She was in the chemical lab, which was where he wanted to be, and A Lycan and a Vampire in the same room was bad at the best of times, but Alexandria and Demetrius, that was just asking for hell. Hoping to startle her, Demetrius flung himself through the glass window with a deafening crash and an equally defeaning roar. He was recogniseable instantly as he was the only Lycan with White Fur. He landed on the table infront of Alexandria, looming over her. Lycans were stronger and faster than Vampires, but Vampires were smarter and they used that to their advantage. You could say Vampires were the brains and Lycans were the brawn. What seemed like an age passed where Lycan and Vampire stood staring.
The question was, Who was going to make the first move?

As soon as the sun had set over the horizon, Alexandria had started to get a few things together for her little journey in case of a Lycan or Malkavian Ambush. If she were to meet anyone here, it would be a Lycan. She had been waiting at her bedroom quarters window behind the blinds and the curtains with a special pair of binoculars that they had invented to allow them to look outside without looking at the sun. She had been waiting for the last signs of sunlight to go before she gathered her guns containing silver bullets and a few other firearms. She always made sure she was prepared for any attacks from either rival side, as many years ago plenty of lives had been lost due to ignorance of the Lycans and Malkavians powers. The last of the weapons she chose, was a small pocket knife, a great invention. A great weapon, or a great tool when in need. Sliding it into her leg holster she dropped her leg down and walked out of her room.
“Rayne, do you need me to assemble a team for your search?” asked one of the team captains she had appointed. He was clever this one, and was pretty strong in body and mind, and had showed more than his loyalty and what was needed on many occasions. That was why she had given him a higher status. “No, I do not require a team tonight thank you” she replied as they walked side by side down the corridor. Reaching the swirling stairs, she descended and the vampires watched as she walked into the room as if they were waiting for an order.
Clearing her throat, she took her place at the top of the room and waited as all the headed turned round to pay her attention. “I am going to the research facility tonight, alone. However, if we have Lycans prowling around as soon as I leave, they may try to attack in here, or try to attack me because i’m alone. Keep your eyes and your ears open until I return. You know the drill” she said, giving a small nod and a smile before walking towards the hall which led to the main doors. There had been a few newcomers of recent, and this had been the first time Rayne had ventured out without others since their arrival. They had been going through rigorous training with the best trainers, and even Rayne had come and helped them train once or twice. The vampire had followed her to the door to let her out, and lock the reinforced door behind her.
“Are you sure Rayne?” “Yes, I’m sure”
The vampire gave a worried look to Rayne, and nodded his head slightly before opening the door and letting Alexandria slip out. Her long black leather coat began to flap in the wind, and she waited for the sound of the door being locked before she moved from her position off the front step. Looking around the vampire grounds, she walked down the stone path for a while before reaching the lake. Scanning her eyes around, she jumped over the lake, landing with force on the other side. The research lab was nearer to the vampires than it was to the Lycans, and Rayne’s plan was to try and find any more clues to what was happening there, and maybe there was a clue to something she could use as a weapon. If there was the smallest idea what was going on in that lab, her team could figure out what and possibly recreate it.
Scanning and walking around the lab, she saw no recent signs of entry in the lab. Meaning no-one else had attempted to break in. Reaching the back of the lab, she found a small grate which had been replaced, quite clumsily. Pulling back the solid metal grate with ease, she put it on the small patch of dried grass before she crawled through the hole. Dropping down from the height, she was in the basement laboratory. Perfect.
The smells of the lab instantly hit her. It was vile, and whatever was going on in here was powerful. Nobody knew why it had been abandoned but Rayne had been trying to find out for years. This Lab however, was not the one she wanted. She wanted the one upstairs on the main floor. Making her way up, she saw the lab she would be inspecting tonight, and a few things lay dormant on a blank white table, that by the looks of it once was white.
She began to examine the objects, when she heard a slight noise of what sounded like metal. Not looking round, she could sense it was a Lycan. Pretending not to notice, she carried on looking at the table, her back to the door and window. As soon as there was a smash of glass, Rayne pulled out her guns and pointed them at the Lycan. Pausing for a moment, ready to pull the trigger, her guns still pointed at the creature, she scowled her eyes. Her fangs were visible and glistened slightly in the moonlight.
“Demetrius”

"Demetrius"
The Lycan gave a growl as the guns were pointing in his face. He hated guns and did not see the need in them, though more than one Lycan used guns for the Vampires, the UV rounds within them were dangerous, though Demetrius never allowed the use of them unless absolutley necessary, Lycans were stronger, they need not use weapons like brainless soldiers.
Teeth bared as he looked down the barrell of the Guns, Demetrius was far larger than any other Lycan and usually a lot more agressive. He leaned back on his hind legs before taking a swipe with his large paws at the gun with a rather nasty snarl to go with it. Though before the Vampire could react to it, Demetrius had bounded over her and was crouched behind a table. It was always handy having the advantage in speed and strength as you could easily get past someone if you got the element of surprise on your side. He could smell the sickening smell of silver from inside those guns and did not doubt for a moment they could do some real damage. It would take a lot of silver to kill Demetrius as he wasnt as affected by it as most other Lycans, but it would hurt him like hell, of course if you pounded enough silver into his stream then it would kill him, and he did not plan on dying tonight.
He sniffed the air, the smell of chemicals was stronger in here than anywhere else, but he could smell fear too. Though it was muffled a bit as though the person was trying to hold it back, the person this smell was coming from was not Rayne, but someone else. Someone human. Letting out a low groan, which came out as a quiet growl in his Lycan form, he looked around to see if he could spot the Human, but he couldnt. She was not in the room. Demetrius could tell by the smell of the fear and the mix of her blood that it was female and Demetrius did not want any more Humans on his case.
Demetrius reverted back into his human self, though this put his advange to less, he didnt care right now. Demetrius was still extreamly strong and fast in his Human form. He sat there behind the table and rubbed his throat, all that snarling had made his throat numb, you couldnt tell when you were in Lycan form but back in Human form it was very much apparent. Why did Rayne have to be here tonight? Of all the nights.
"Alexandria," Demetrius said in a dry, humourless voice. Standing up and facing the Vampire.

Not once did Rayne take her eyes off of the Lycan that she used to know so well. Now, he was just a stranger who wanted her blood, and she wanted his in return. She knew in an enclosed space that without the guns she wouldn’t have half the chance that she would otherwise. She saw the anger building up in him and as soon as she thought it, he took his overgrown paw and swiped at her guns. Pulling her arm back so he didn’t knock it out of her hand, she smirked at his attempt and watched him hide behind the table. Bless.
“Now now doggy, don’t you want to play nice?” she mocked, before pouting her lips and pushing her lower one out. She tongued one of her vampire fangs for a moment, testing it’s sharpness on her tongue.
“That’s too bad” she said in a low voice. Stepping backwards a step she watched him sniffing the air. Was he trying to trick her? It wasn’t going to work, he should of known that by now. Still, it looked like he had caught the scent of something, and he began to sniff harder. Rayne wrinkled up her nose as she got a whiff off the strong chemicals once again. Even if there was someone or something else in here she would not trust Demetrius enough to take her eyes off of him.
Watching as Demetrius changed back into his human form, Rayne still pointed her guns at him. She gave a quick glance out of the window to see if she was going to be ambushed, but she could see no other Lycans around. Looking back at Demetrius, she put her guns back in their holders. Frowning at him, she knew why she was there, but had he caught on to why she was there?
“What are you doing here?” She snapped. He was ruining her research and she was desperate to find some clues as to what was here before hand. He couldn’t possibly be here for the same reason she was. He had no equipment with him for starters. Maybe it was just one of his little prowls that he liked to do. Even when the pair was friendly, he enjoyed walking alone.
“You always seem to be in my damn way. If you want a fight, then go eat one of your own kind, because I won’t be dying tonight” she spat, looking back at the table. Realising she didn’t want to look like she was here for a reason, she looked back at him, concentrating on his eyes to see any signs of change.
