After weeks of interruptions on the Lycans part, Alexandria was still no closer to finding any secrets at the abandoned laboratory. She just knew something was there however, and she was inspecting in and around the building with a fine tooth comb. She was sure something in there held the answer to help create more weapons for the war. The smell of chemicals in there was still so overpowering that she knew even a trace of it could be used and duplicated by her team, but the problem was finding the traces in the first place. Still, she had decided to give it a rest for a while and actually give herself a chance to sleep.
Waking up with a start, flashing images of Demetrius finding the key to the chemicals awoke her. His smug face while he jangled the test tube in front of her face was unbearable. When they had met that night just over a week ago in the lab, she became paranoid and suspicious as to why he was there. She hoped he had not caught on to why she was there, but then she could not think of any other reason that he would be there. The thought had been playing on her mind ever since and she was determined to get to the answer first. She was not going to let him win, after all, he had started this war, and Alexandria Rayne was determined to finish it.
The sweat had messed up her hair. Looking around her room, she was aware her fangs had protruded, and she looked to the window, cloaked in layers of cloth to stop the sunlight coming through. Taking in a deep breath, she pulled the curtain back momentarily to catch a glimpse of the sun. Narrowing her eyes and turning her head back slightly as she stared directly at it, she returned her vision back to the gardens out the front of the mansion. Giving a small smile at the blood red roses that were growing beautifully she became interrupted by a small rapping at the door. Letting the curtain fall back into place, she walked towards the door, shouting “Come In” at the intruder on her moment’s peace. The door opened to reveal the leader of the weapons team, with a bucketful of small shiny objects. “Good morning, I see you’ve finished the new shurikens” she smiled dipping her hand into the bucket to pick one up. Lifting it close to her face, she examined the workmanship and the shape of them and nodded her head after a moment.
“I think Ranvier will enjoy these very much, thank you” she said, and accepted the bucket of them off of the small man. The man bowed and closed the door after himself as Alexandria turned her back to him and walked back to the window. Looking back into the bucket, she knew Ranvier loved these things, and it was about time he had new ones. Emptying a few out onto her bed, she watched as they fell with a ear-aching sound, screeching against each other. Walking out of the room, she could sense Ranvier was downstairs in the training room. Typical, she didn’t even really need to sense him, he was there a lot. Making her way to him, she smirked and raised her eyebrows while shaking the bucket slightly yet enough to rattle the metal. “We have some new toys to play with”

Much of a Vampires time is dedicated to training, they have to be swift, athletic, agile and yet on top of that they must be silently strong creatures. To take on a Lycan you have to be at the peak of physical fitness, even for a vampire, hence even the fittest human would never be much of a challenge to either species.
Ranvier had been in the training rooms now, for a fair few hours, and during this time they must be fully aware of what they are doing and ignore their senses of things that are further a field. And for this reason, it is unwise to disturb a Vampire whilst he was training, unless of course you are truly confident about your own defensive skills.
For the last hour of this Ranvier had been training with his usual blade, new and improved styles of attack were always useful, and alot of consideration and thought had to be put into each combination of moves. Also, in case fighting someone more than one, you have to have many varying moves, otherwise they could fathom out your move and the best way to combat it. And this would be a hellish price to pay.
Ranvier had removed his shirt earlier; it was easier when practising to do this, so you have more room to manoeuvre around. It also wasn’t as warm, which means that you can train for longer periods of time. The usual Lycan shaped dummy was in the middle of the room, closing his eyes, preparing himself and focusing his senses, he stood still for a matter of seconds. And then swiftly, he threw his long sword at the mannequin, and withdrawing the short knife from the pocket on the inside of his lower right leg, he jumped off the floor somersaulting as he did so. As he left the ground, he heard the sword slice and embed itself in the chest of the mannequin. Seconds later, he landed with his feet upon the shoulders of the Lycan and rammed the short knife through the top of its head. This would be a fatal blow to any adversary. This had been a move which Ranvier had created incase he had no more shurikens to finish of the Lycans quicker. Grabbing the handle of both embedded swords he sharply tugged them out, and as he did so he kicked down on its shoulders hard, springing him into a back flip, and he landed gracefully on the floor, crouching as he did so, to soften and silent the land.
The sounds of clanking metal came from behind him. Ranvier swivelled on the spot, and there stood Alex with a large bucket. Smiling at his own stupidity, in a battle he would have to keep to his senses all the time, otherwise he’d be dead in seconds, but he generally did this of course otherwise he would not have lived to this fine old age. “How long have you been stood there?” He enquired trying not to laugh at himself. And running his hands through his hair, it was slightly on the sodden side, after his work out. Sweat glistened on his torso, and being aware of the fact, he moved over to the side, where his shirt and a towel lay. He wiped his face and then threw the towel with very little effort, into the furthest basket in the corner. Then taking hold of his shirt, he slipped it on quickly and smiled back at her. “Oh so the boffins have been at work again!” And wiggling his fingers whilst mouthing ‘Oooo’ he moved towards her and looked into the depths of the bucket.
In the bucket lay many shurikens, some were chrome and others were black, they each held intricate designs around the centre hole. “Oh wow, how amazing! The boffins have out done themselves this time!” Ranvier declared not bothering to hide the excitement from his voice. And as he did so he reached into the bucket and withdrew a shuriken of each colour. Weighing each of them up, and noting the design upon them carefully. Itching to go and draw them, Ranvier had a large interest in weapons most especially shurikens, which were his favourite none close combat weapons. But you have to calculate certain things about each of them, to determine the best way to throw them to gain the greatest advantage. “Mind carrying this on in my quarters Alex? Others must use the training facilities.” And smiling he took the bucket off her and held the door open for her.
They made there way through the halls, up to the top of the mansion, their quarters were very near to each other’s. More for a protection reason, in case they suddenly were attacked in the middle of the day. Ranvier opened the door to his room, and placed the bucket on the floor by the large brown leather sofa in the corner. Then looking back up at Alex, he pointed at the sofa and stated, “Do please take a seat.”

It was quite worrying how a lot of the younglings didn’t bother with extra training except the times Ranvier and Silas made them train. Training was the key ingredient to surviving out there, and Alexandria would not let new blooded vampires out until they had completed the basic training skills they needed, and even then they were mostly accompanied by a more experienced vampire. She had let them roam free before, and many had perished due to their naive behaviour. Now Alexandria had strict rules, and if they didn’t obey them, they would be punished by the Lycans. It was quite simple really, they either train a little extra and get to warrior status quicker so they were prepared to go out alone, or they get treated like children for a longer period of time. Many young ones disobeyed the rules and rebelled, and in extreme circumstances, Alexandria had taken one out and waited for Lycans to come and ambush them, and she held him over the edge of a building hovering over the beasts to see how they would get out of the situation. It was soon safe to say he began to panic and see the situation through Rayne’s eyes. When they rebelled she became angry and it wasn’t the best idea to mess with her when she became really angry, she was beyond vicious. When she placed them back on the roof, she jumped down and proceeded to rip them into pieces. Within seconds the five lycans were dead. The anger she had from her own kind was enough to rage her into a frenzy. The last lycan had the worst end, it was nothing when she had finished. She had ripped off it’s lower jaw, blinded it, crushed it’s skull and ripped out it’s insides from behind. A organ resembling a kidney was found a quarter of a mile away when she had finished.
Watching Ranvier train for a moment, she couldn’t help but look at him with his shirt off, sweat dripping from him, and his hair soaked with the hard training. Biting her lip for a second, she shifted her position and weight onto her other leg before rattling the bucket a little to get his attention. It was good to see at least somebody was taking training seriously. She was going to have to get the others to have a few training sessions with herself, Silas and Ranvier all together soon, they were becoming sloppy, and sloppy got you dead. Walking over to where Ranvier’s shirt and towel was, she placed the bucket down for a second before watching him pick up his towel and wiped his face. She simply smirked at his question of how long she hand been there, and raised her eyebrows in amusement. “Let’s see” she said, pretending to count the minutes on her hands making it look like she had been there for hours before letting them drop and laughing slightly. “About 2 minutes, but it’s okay, that’s enough time to get you killed” she joked. “I at least expected a dagger to come flying my way Ranvier” she said, picking up the bucket once more and letting it rest in the crook of her arm before nudging him with her free elbow. Ranvier and her always joked about stuff like that. They both took training seriously as just one minor slipup could cause so much more destruction and death than just yourself.
“You do know if they here you call them boffins they’ll make sure your weapons don’t work again” she laughed. The last time that he had called one a name he had received blunt shurikens which were duds and pretty much useless for battle.
“Of course not” she replied as he asked to carry on the chat in his quarters. Smiling as he took the bucket off her and opened the door, she looked at him rather shyly and nodded slightly before walking through it. As they made their way up to his quarters, she passed her room and to the right of her room was Ranviers, to the left was Silas’. As he pointed to the leather sofa, she sat down, crossing her legs and leant forward.
“So how do you think the training with the newbies is going? They arn’t misbehaving I hope” she asked concerned. She had gotten so lost in finding the secrets of the abandoned lab she had had to leave all training to Ranvier and Silas. There was of course the seer that came into play, and so Ranvier was to do the training now while Silas was sent to bring the girl back. They needed that seer, and Alexandria would do anything to get her. She could not track down the other seer.

Ranvier glared playfully at Alex as she began to count on her fingers as to how long she had been stood watching him for. Beginning to feel slightly annoyed at himself for not noticing her as she had apparently been stood there for a long time, though knowing it must be interesting to watch at least. But, he was hardly less than eager at people stealing his new moves, before he can try them out on a real victim himself. Though each vampire had his or her own style of fighting, and so it was generally very unlikely to happen. Ranvier then laughed at Alex as she finally decided upon the fact she had only been stood there for all of two minutes. “Indeed it is plenty of time to get yourself killed, however...” Ranvier paused, and flexed his muscles jokingly, “I thought I would give you something nice to watch!” and giving her a cheeky wink he then continued, “Anyway, it would have been a waste of a dagger, it had a more important thing to attack! And I thought it best to keep you in suspense.” To which he felt a small nudge in the ribs. “Charming!” Ranvier stated a little high pitched to emphasise it.
Then replacing the towel upon the side he slipped his shirt on, much to Alex’s disappointment he was sure. As he did so he heard her remark on their nicknames, “Thats a good point, but come on! They are Boffins...But I don’t think I should call them boffins to their faces again and chance my shurikens bouncing of Lycans faces once more, I have never seen a transformed Lycan howl so much with laughter..” Ranvier said biting his lip as he remembered the time well, though allowing a small worried smile to grace his lips and rolling his eyes slightly. Generally when people laughed at Ranvier it was because he gave them something to laugh at, but not when he was in the heat of battle. Though he dare say he deserved it.
Ranvier moved away form the sofa where Alex was now sat, moving toward the opposite wall, where two handles hung on the wall, seemingly leading to nothing. Yanking on the handles, the wall came away, opening out into a board, which was similar to the texture of a dart board took its place, with a fair few dent marks in it also. This was how he assessed how best to use his weapons when the training rooms were occupied, and if he ever had sleepless days he could practise easily enough.
Smiling he Ranvier turned to face Alex after the question as to how the training of the younglings was going. He was however in two minds, they seemed to be enjoying it fully and learning alot, and yet they did not put enough time and effort into it. Throughout Ranvier’s exceedingly long period as a vampire he had trained hard almost everyday, building up his strength, it was hard to survive as a Vampire, it was a tough life though no one seemed to be able to realise this. It was fine for Lycans of course which was perhaps why Demetrius had pulled away from their joined colonies. The change barely affected their lives, sure they stank, but they could still move about freely at any stage of the day and change on their own free will. A vampire could not, but they got all of the heightened senses and strength. But what reason did Vampires have to make themselves known. Eventually people would revolt and just slaughter them during the day. So if anyone lost out from this war it was the Vampire clan. “Well, they are quick learners I’ll tell you that, the majority are good fighters, but they all seem to be serious casualties of... Pigheadedness.” Then walked back over to the sofa he sat on the arm before continuing. “I do not know how we can put the danger across, we could of course attempt your dangling theory, or we could just send them out into battle so they find out first hand, but that would be careless and we would lose the majority of our ranks.” Then smiling at her lightly he ran his hands through his still slightly soggy hair. “I think we are going to have to scare them, but for the moment the training is doing well enough, but they certainly need to train harder, some have the most measly muscles.” Beginning to laugh he continued, “Even you have more muscles than some of the younglings!” Ranvier slid of the edge of the sofa quickly, slightly glad that she still didn’t have the bucket of shurikens in her grasp.
“Would you care to take the first shot, m’ lady?” Ranvier asked with a half bow, and then realising he stated quickly, “Not at me mind, at the board, you can attack me another time!” winking at her as he stated this hurriedly.
(( i got there eventually!))

Alex just stood there in amusement as Ranvier started to show his annoyance and disappointment in himself. Alex found it quite hilarious that his senses were so wayward but then she realised the seriousness of him being less than aware of his surroundings. Folding her arms she took a few steps closer to him before looking out of the windows which covered an entire wall in the room and overlooked a medium sized patch of a garden that was sometimes used for a little training. Walking over to the window, she placed a hand on the cool glass, automatically feeling the shiver wriggle down her spine and she breathed in a lungful of fresh air from the open window. Looking out into the darkness she looked over the garden and made note that she, yes she, would have to go and do some gardening, even if it was just some time to think things over.
Deciding not to face Ranvier again for the time being, she lowered her head and began to speak again. “We’re becoming weak Ranvier, very weak” she spoke so softly and mournfully that she barely heard the words escape from her own mouth. It was so true that as she spoke it, it pained her and gave her an instant headache only being relieved by the soothing cold emitting from the window pane. It was times like this that she began to think the worst, and the nagging feeling crawled out from the back of her mind and ate away at her, draining her creativeness, her cleverness and her mental strength. They didn’t happen often, but when they did, she felt hopeless and not much like the leader she should be. Biting down on her lower lip, she restricted the next few words from tumbling from her mouth, about how if anything happened to her she would want Ranvier and Silas to take her place as equals. As she was about to let the words slip clumsily from her mouth, Ranvier came in with that typical Ranvier flare and made her laugh. Turning around to face him, she slapped him on the chest lightly and playfully as he continued to call the workers boffins. “You know they will put something in your drink, just be careful what you say” she smiled. Walking over to sofa, she sat down and watched Ranvier pull his shirt back on with hungry eyes. Looking away quickly again as she realised she was staring, she had reminded herself of why she had chosen to blood him first all those years ago... he was a good guy, and he was very good looking, but as usual things never went to plan and so their relationship had never gone where Alex had hoped. Thinking about it she felt more like a stalker, and she soon coughed as if it would rid her stalker like thoughts.
As he spoke of the younger vampires training, Alex sighed. She knew full well they were taking it as a joke and she knew she would have to step in and kick their asses into touch. Rolling her eyes more at how the vampires were becoming weak and falling at the first hurdle, she inwardly cursed Demetrius for making her have to make all these preparations and decisions in the first place. “Well it looks like I’ll have to make an example out of some of them” she said, quite disappointed at their lack of interest in sheer survival, but again Ranvier had to make her laugh and he quickly slid off the sofa out of her reach. Of course if she wanted she could of captured him easily but she decided to let him off....for a few seconds anyway.
Standing up after a few moments, she pulled a handful of shruikens from their confined bucket, she was about to throw one at Ranvier to get pay back for his previous statement but he beat her to it and asked her not too. Grinning smugly she lazily threw one at the board, embedding itself as if a bulky man had thrown it with all his might. As soon as she threw it, she had sped over to Ranvier and pushed him onto the floor on his back, pinning him down by his hands as she sat on his chest. “Hmm, it looks like the younglings arn’t the only ones who need more training” she smirked cheekily.

The slender figure of Alex moved over to the windows, which made up one of the four walls of the training room. It wasn’t perhaps the smartest of moves; if any of the clan tried to train during the day then they would quite literally get burnt. So unlike Ranvier who considered this and quickly put his training board in his quarters, they could not properly train during those hours. Though the lazy younglings just tended to sleep instead. Watching as she placed her hand on the glass and sighed deeply, apparently thinking, which was never a good thing. Ranvier could not help but stare at her against the glass, he didn’t see her too often at the moment, which was unusual, she was always out at the old lab, every evening, and it was tiring her out.
She turned looking at her feet, in a strange depressive manner. This was one thing he could not allow, Ranvier was all for being serious when he had to be, but he rallied the spirits of the clan, and considering how grouchy and depressive the old grump was that was a hell of a lot of rallying, and for Alex to be just as depressive would put the clan into disarray. She mumbled something, something about their weakness, it was all so depressive, she seemed to be being torn apart and it was starting in her mind. He had the urge to go to her, put his arms around her, comfort her. But he couldn’t. It wasn’t suitable; it would not help her strength of mind. Ranvier was not going to put up with this kind of behaviour and thought; he carried on with the subject of the boffins in his usual manner. Hoping for the teeniest of smiles, which thankfully he saw within seconds, she laughed and her eyes glowed with happiness. Well at least on the outside. Though this happiness was about the equivalent of a smile off Silas, which was a bloody miracle! So Ranvier came to the conclusion that she must be pretty damn happy. Then grinning back at her he replied “Ah. Yes you do have a point there... but what are they gonna put in it I am made of stronger stuff, it could just make me slightly more crazy...”
Ranvier was glad to see she did not lunge at him after his remark, for the wall was next to that, and he did not want his newly painted walls damaged, which had been another production of his boredom recently. He had painted intricate patterns above his bed mainly, but no one tended to see them and few strayed into his room anyway, and none of those tended to look at the ceiling above his bed. So they were for his own amusement. Though he had warned her not to throw a shuriken at him she had clearly intended too as moments later one shot straight past his head and embedded itself in the wall. He was about to turn around and utter a cheeky remark, but he then felt hands around his waist as he was forced to the ground. He lay there on his back, arms held above his head and Alex same comfortably on his chest. And then she grinned cheekily whilst criticising his skills as a Vampire. Which in the current situation he was going to have to take. Well...maybe. “Hey, I let you pin me, but if you wanted me on the floor you could have just asked!” Ranvier said cheekily in return and poked his tongue out at her. But how was he to get out of this. He wiggled a little from side to side, to see if she would allow him to move, yet he kept his gaze locked on hers. She would not budge, even a little. “You know this would look very odd if a youngling came searching for us.” He chuckled, seeing if this would cause to think ‘ah, good point’ and leap off him.
Now Ranvier could do either of two things, his legs were free because she was sat on his chest, so he could bring his legs up knock her arms from under her so she falls forward and then he could reverse the positions, or he could somehow shock her into moving. But he had no clue how to do the latter of the options and so decided to stick with the first. He smiled at her lightly still not breaking his gaze, hoping to lull her into a sense of false security, whether this worked or not he doubted it would matter. Forcing himself to put more weight onto his upper back and shoulders he brought his legs up and took the support of her arms away from her, she began to fall forwards, and instantly Ranvier brought his legs back down, and twisting his body round, he put a hand behind her head to stop it hitting the floor, she now lay on the floor and he was sat on top of her, though lower down than she had been so Alex could not do the same thing he just had. Ranvier’s hair had fallen forwards so he could not see either side of him only Alex. Smiling down at her, hand still behind he head keeping it off the floor, he stated cheekily, “Oh it is I that needs the extra training is it my dear? Think again.”

Her leather creaked as she sat perched herself onto the crimson red sofa. When Ranvier came back with this couch, Alex could remember unquestionably the look on his face as him and a youngling brought it into his room. Alex found herself laughing continuously for hours at the fact he had chosen a crimson coloured couch and the irony kept her amused for hours. She remembered saying ‘you’re taking your job too seriously’ to him as he jumped on the sofa causing the youngling to drop it onto his foot and howl in pain and Ranvier simply smirked back, wielding his sword around and mocked the poor boy. Placing her hand upon its arm she stroked the material, familiarising herself with it once more like she did the moment it arrived in the mansion. With a hint of a small reminiscent smile she looked back to Ranvier, letting him see she wasn’t all doom and gloom but that she was actually happy.
She pulled herself together, not really for her sake, but for Ranvier to not go all serious on her and for the clan’s sake. She was a mother to many, but none were her own. The thought depressed her once again, but it had been a thought on her mind for many years and it was just another thing for Alex to have to put on hold. For saying she was immortal she had to put off living her life a heck of a lot. Looking back at him as he continued to talk about the boffins future plans for him. “All I can say is watch out at dinner tonight” she said smugly, as if they were going to put anthrax in his mushy peas as they all sat round for dinner. That was another forgotten reason she had come to see Ranvier. “Oh and dinner tonight at 9pm, it’s about time we all got together as a clan and had a big chat” she smiled, quite liking the family feel of it. She knew by the end of it they would all be having a party and especially Ranvier would be raiding the fridges and chugging the blood like it was neverending, with it pouring all over his face. The last time he did that, he got literally blood drunk and he had tried to hang Silas up on the chandelier but failed miserably of course, and somehow Silas had humiliated him and locked him outside naked. As the throwing weapons turned into Alex getting her own back on Ranvier, he like usual made a remark before Alex found herself turning upside down.
As the tables turned, Alex somehow found herself in Ranvier’s previous place, her eyes closed tight as she felt his hand cradle her head, knowing full well he didn’t want her concussed. Laughter erupted from her stomach and she found herself becoming weak from the emotion, now rendered handicapped. Lucky, Ranvier wasn’t sitting on her chest and she could breathe easy, but now the closeness between them was too much, and her laughter soon ran dry as she just blinked at him, staring into his mesmerising eyes. Flashbacks began, the first time Ranvier had spoken to her, when she blooded him, and all the laughs the pair had before Alex blooded Silas. Private times it seemed, where it felt just like them two alone in the entire world. Just them.
Demetrius.
His face replaced Ranviers and Alex panicked, violently gaining her strength back and throwing his body off her, soon jumping up and ready to pounce on him. Ready to kill. As she jumped back on to him, it was no longer Demetrius, the evil who had ruined her entire world and caused such uproar throughout many cities, but it was Ranvier, the one who had stuck by her since the start, the one who found her and wanted to be with her, to be blooded, the one she accepted...
Crouched over him with her fangs bared she was ready to bite him and drain his blood, but as her heavy breathing slowed, her neon blue eyes cooled into their normal blue and her fangs slowly protruded. Alex had scared herself, the first time she had ever done so. “Ranvier...” she simply said softly, her words dripping with remorse at what her actions could have just forced her to do.

A smile spread across Ranvier’s face, even though he had been trying to keep a serious expression when discussing the fact that the Boffin’s were after him. But once again it was too much for him and he had to crack a smile, it was after all Ranvier of all people. “Dinner tonight eh?” as he said this he cocked an eyebrow and brought his hand to his face, stroking his stubble in a thought provoking manner. “Does this mean that you are involved in their plotting missy?” Ranvier enquired, “Ooo a family meal, how pleasant, we get to sit at the head of the table and moan at the younglings about their table manners and their annual blood intake, oh the amusement!” he finished this with a broad grin. This was generally the way of their family meals, it was what Ranvier had always assumed to be your average kind of family meal, well so he had gathered from portrayals of others in the clan. His group meals when he had been younger had consisted of much less food and much more shouting, yet surprisingly silent with no conversations except at the head table when they would be told to be quiet and glad of what they got. A little bit different to the family meals in the manor which always full of fun and laughter, of course mainly started by himself being the largest spectacle to behold. It was Silas the boring old fart that generally conversed about their annual blood intake, and how it was the end of the world because they did not have enough blood at the rate they were slugging it back, so of course in typical Ranvier fashion he raided the blood bank...well fridge, and drank a vast amount of its contents, just to annoy the grumpy old beggar. It paid off in that respect but not another, and it was safe to say it was a very chilly evening. It would be strange not having the three chairs at the top of the table filled, but on the other hand rather more fun. Ranvier began to smile slyly, but then realised he was still talking with Alex, this was the one issue with going off into memories and thoughts, whilst you were vacant you never realised what faces you may have pulled, and it never failed in making you look more odd.
Hair still cut the majority of Ranvier’s vision from him, well all except Alex, who just stared back at him just as fixatedly, he felt her tremble with laughter at his remark, and still did not remove his cheeky grin, he was all smiles as ever. He laughed softly, more at her fit of hysterics than anything else. But then it ceased, her eyes glittered and all that was left of her laugh was a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. Her hair now ran over his hand and the rest lay sprawled across the floor in strange patterns. He was about to mention how it was going to be a pig to put a comb through now, but he became distracted, Alex’s eyes had now become vacant, this would not have bothered him, she appeared to be thinking. But it was not that that unsettled him, small traces of neon blue could be seen becoming more vibrantly entwined with her normal blue eyes. Though Ranvier did not have to think on the matter too much further, her muscles tensed beneath him, she thrashed a little, and then threw him a side with such force because he had been unawares of such a change of behaviour. His back hit the cold floor hard, much harder than before, his head soon followed and collided with the unforgiving surface. Looking up, he saw Alex stood above him, rage in her eyes, but he was mistaken. It was not the Alex he knew, it was Rayne. Startled by the sudden change, Ranvier did not think to move. She jumped on him. Knees hard into his chest, driving the air straight from his lungs now the throbbing of his head due to pain and confusion was accompanied by a numbness of the lungs, no gases presided there. Painstakingly trying to draw breath, but he was still more than unsettled by the monster bearing down on him. Neon pupils, glistening protruding fangs started his way, heading for his neck. Still winded, he was helpless; from the shock. He stood little chance. Tensing his neck muscles he awaited the piercing. But it did not come, turning his head to the side slightly, shakily drawing his breath back he saw her pupils begin to return to normal, she was not inches from his neck. Heavy breathing of Alex’s mingled with his rasping breaths; she spoke his name softly though with such remorse. A moment of weakness what was he to do.
Lying there for a second, which seemed to drag on for millennia, unsure of what to do. All seriousness, Ranvier had to choose his actions carefully for if he didn’t this may have shook their leader in a truly soul shattering way. His head throbbed, in such an agonising manner, though Ranvier took the first action which seemed only natural too him in the circumstance. Sitting slowly upright so as not to knock her off him, he wrapped his arms around her, one around her waist, the other looped around her back supporting her and holding her head against his chest, he hugged her tightly, rocking to and fro slightly whispering as he did so almost silently “Hush, Hush. It’s ok.” He repeated it a number of times, sure perhaps he could have said any number of things that would have been better, but he doubted they would have helped matters. Granted after her strange actions, she may push him away and refuse to see him in fear of doing the same again, but not acting would only allow her to flee from him now. A leader always had to appear fearless strong on all counts, but even the strongest had moments of weakness. And this was just one of those least expected, unfortunate moments.

The ways of Ranvier were always ones that would have you smiling no matter what mood you were in, and as he joked that she too was plotting to kill him, she simply smirked and shook her head slightly. “Not quite yet Ranvier, I’ll bide my time” she mocked simply before blinking slowly and turning back to look out the window. Alex was such a fidget, she could never sit still and was always on the move even if she was simply doing laps of her wing. She was so used to being on her feet that she felt odd if she wasn’t. She was sure that she would have to swap feet with someone soon as 4000 years on the same feet at this amount of pressure was sure to wear them out. “Maybe I’ll just steal your feet from you” she said, turning back around to watch how he reacted as she picked up a couple of shruikens and spread them in her fingers, ready to throw at his heels at a moment’s notice. Laughing she pretended she was about to throw them at him instead she turned at the last minute and threw them directly at the board, embedding them deep into it and causing devastating damage to what would have been the enemy. “I don’t know about you, but I think this batch is not a joke set, do you?” she smiled, placing her hands on her hips and giving Ranvier a wink before walking over to the board and removing them as small splinters of wood broke away as she pulled them from their confined spaces.
The clan dinners were always fun, but extra loud if Ranvier was a part of them. She would always end up breaking up a fight between Silas and Ranvier and the last time she decided to leave it, well, let’s just say Silas won and Ranvier was locked out all night. She had not intervened and it was probably the funniest night that had happened in a long while, and for once she didn’t have to worry about Lycans or any ‘business’. As her laughter died, her face soon turned back to sadness that had been just the same a few moments before. How could she of misplaced Ranvier for Demetrius? It was a foolish moment, a moment in which, if she was honest with herself, could have killed the only man she loved even if it was in secret. She couldn’t make the thoughts leave her mind as to what she would of done if she would of killed Ranvier and just the thoughts of losing him made her jump off him and kneel next to him as he stayed in the position she had put him in. Shock swept over her and tears began to fall from her eyes, making her hysterical as she cried. Soon she felt arms around her as Ranvier cuddled her to comfort her, in some way telling her it was okay and he knew she didn’t mean to. The closeness only made matters worse and soon she was crying a river into his chest, beating at him with her fists gently in retaliation to get off her, but she eventually gave in and burrowed into him deeper, sobbing uncontrollably. It was his hushed words that made her suddenly stop crying as she slowly lifted her head up to look at him, her tears still threatening to leave her eyes as she looked at him with so many emotions running through her aqua eyes. She held a look to him that simply said she was sorry and after a moments silence between the pair, she found herself nearing him and softly kissing his lips. It was then her silent tears began to fall once more...

Glaring playfully back at Alex as she stated that she was biding her time to kill him. Ranvier replied, “Well in that case I shall have to keep on watching my back then shan’t I. The Lycans are nothing to worry about however you on the other hand...are positively scary!” then chuckling at her expression as she turned away from him once again to look out into the little wilderness beyond the glass. It truly needed some work done on it, but gardening was generally done in the day. So it would take a stupid or perhaps brave Vampire to sort it out, considering that during the night they had much more important things to be doing. Lycans were becoming more active by the day; the younglings needed more training than ever. Silas was not present which left all the training to Ranvier and with Alex being away at the abandoned lab for the majority of her time, it was becoming a little harder on Ranvier, though this did not bother him. The clan respected him due to his humour and they also knew not to cross him so they rarely caused him any trouble and they reacted well to his training methods, which was always useful. Alex turned to face him a smirk showing on her features as she mentioned stealing his feet. “Steal my feet? The outrage!” Ranvier retorted in an attempt of a shocked expression, “It is I that will need newer feet sooner than yourself. May I remind you that I am only a century younger than yourself, and on top of that I am not half as lazy!” as his sentence drew to a close he poked his tongue at her cheekily. Though this time not bothering to duck out of the way if she came after him. This may not have been the best idea in the world, and she quickly took up three shurikens in betwixt her fingers, preparing himself to dodge the Shurikens incase she threw them at him playfully; she suddenly turned and threw them at the wall. Ripping into it with a series of fantastic slicing sounds. Jokingly gulping loudly as she turned to him a gain, he said in the most high-pitched voice he could manage “No!...” Then clearing his throat and putting on a deep voice instead he continued “No...not at all. Quite the masculine weapon!” Though he then grinned quite broadly as she winked at him and walked away to retrieve the shurikens.
As Ranvier held her closely to his chest, he could her gently sobbing into him, before she then suddenly pounding her fists against his chest half-heartedly to try and get him to remove his grip from around her. Though he knew only to tense himself against the meagre blows, and hold her slightly more tightly, if she really wanted him to let go she would have pushed him aside with much more authority. He could feel his shirt becoming slightly damp as she sobbed deeply into his chest, though all he did was hold her tightly before repeating his words. He knew not what else to say. What else was he to do in such a situation? He could make light of it as was his usual response. But Ranvier had a feeling that if he did so that it would backfire upon him and she would just flee and leave him sat there with a soggy shirt calling after her, but unsure whether or not to follow like a nonce.
As he finished repeating his words, he felt her pull away from him slightly, with no real force, but loosening his hold on her he let her pull away, until she was facing him, still in his arms, tears rolling elegantly down her cheeks. Unsure what to make of her expression, there seemed to be a muddle of emotions currently residing in her eyes,. So much so he could not tell them apart. Gazing into her eyes as he attempted to distinguish what she was currently feeling, she slowly moved towards him pressing her lips against his. More shocked than anything, though trying not to show it, he watched as she pulled herself away slowly and began to cry again resting her head against his chest once again. Ranvier was once again unsure of what to do, he willed to kiss her back, but at the same time not. She was crying into him, was it an apology, was she confused due to her current state. Ranvier was quite honestly stuck with what to do. So he did the only thing that came to his mind at the time, as he cuddled her to him, he kissed her on top of the head before resting his head on top of hers and hugging her closer. Ranvier had been torn between what he wanted and her perhaps unstable state, and so thinking more for her mental health he chose this action rather than others.
((:S i don’t think that was too good so i apologise, but i hope it wasn’t toooo bad my dear!))
