It was a cold night, and Olivia had been sent out to chase up a rogue vampire that had last been seen at the dell. It had been a long night and all she could think about was crawling into bed and sleeping for eternity. She had been on an 18 hour shift and was about to go home when Harold Veldon had put her on this assignment to fulfil. Typical really, she always ended up getting the rubbish jobs and at the last minute to top it off. She had lost count of the amount of overtime she had been doing recently, and it seemed her and Deryn had been the puppets to get everything done. Sighing, she checked her watch, the time was now 2:47am and all she could think of was bed. As she walked, her foot became stuck in the marsh.
“Oh, for christ’s sake...what next!” she sighed, pulling her leg out and lifting herself up to the hard turf. Looking at her leg, it was now half covered in mud and her khaki trousers were wet. Pulling out her walkie talkie from the back of her belt, she radioed back to her Omega Squadron leader.
“No sign of the Vampire Sir. No evidence of it being here either, over” She waited for a reply and heard a big sigh come from the voice.
“Alright, move out Beaule, let’s call it a night”
“Right-o sir”
As soon as she clipped the walkie talkie back onto her belt a shadow caught her eye. Turning her head in the direction, she focused her vision on the spot for a moment before walking towards it slowly. Olivia had guns and knives on her, but she only used them when really necessary. She preferred to use herself as a weapon. She was highly skilled in kick boxing, and she loved nothing more than the sound of someone’s bones breaking. They always deserved it.
