It was never easy living a life trying to remain hidden from the ever watchful eyes of everyone around them, especially when you had to become a thief to ensure your little sister ate. Nikki and Kallie were constantly squatting, or living in ruts. Not once in three years had the girls had a decent nights sleep, though they managed to keep themselves clean and well kept so they could walk down the streets without much notice. The way they were living thier lives reminded Nikki of Pirates, she felt like one to be honest, except without the crew and ship, but plundering things for her own needs, or her own gain was something she had grown used to over the past few years. Kallie was in the cave where the two were hiding, just over the field and through the dell. When you had known comfort of a warm home for better part of your life, going to live in a cave was no easy transaction, but she had to get away, and Kallie had come with her and since Kallie was only ten, Nikki adopted a motherly instinct for her younger sister.
She was walking down the street, it held street markets and was quite busy so it was easy for Nikki to steal fruit and things like that. It wouldnt sustain them, but it would keep them going until she could find something else. Having meat was a treat for the girls as it very rarely happened. Nikki had even thought about getting a job and a flat, but she couldnt leave Kallie alone for too long on her own, and there was no way she could afford a carer, so that was out of the question and instead, she wandered around in the afternoon, stealing food and wallets off people so she could keep Kallie alive. Nikki wasnt bothered much if she ate, she had to protect her sister, and so Kallie came before Nikki's needs.
Nikki bumped into someone, apologizing as she walked past. She hadnt taken anything from this man, whoever he was as she continued on her way down the street. By the time she reached the end, she had a few apples, oranges and a watermelon. Though it wouldnt be enough to last them, it would be enough for tonight. Someone bumped into her, as the blonde turned her head to look at who it was. Her eyes met someone elses, as the two stood there looking at eachother, but Nikki would not be the first to break the silence that lingered.

Ranvier had quite literally been caught short; he had been in underworld almost all night and then got distracted by Lycan activity pretty much as soon as he had left Michael’s company. And so in his usual manner of intrigue Ranvier took it upon himself to investigate, it turned out the Lycan had just been going for a pleasant stroll. Which in itself was highly peculiar. But as is sod’s law just as he began to head back to the Manor house the enemy appeared, it may have still been early but it was bright, thankfully due to elongated exposure over his lifetime, he could last a short while in the sun, he just looked like a roasted prune afterwards, which was not a good thing, even Silas cracked a smile on these occasions. Ranvier reverted back to his general form, fangs disappearing and his eyes becoming their usual green self. Making him much less noticeable, he preferred to be in this form unless of course he was in a battle or had taken to the rooftops. Ranvier darted into the shadow, and picked up a long black coat, which was resting on nearby barrels; he slipped it on and turned the collar up around his neck and headed into the crowd of men setting up their market stalls down the main road. Though come to think of it, it was a toss up of which looked more abnormal, a man in leather or a man in a long coat with the collar turned up. Oh well.
Checking every inch of him was concealed in the shadows, he continued moving through the shadows, though eyes fixed on the shadows rather than his surroundings. The most unfortunate fact was that Ranvier could neither take to the roofs of the city, which was the quickest route home, and he could not hurry back in his general swift manner, because it would arouse suspicion. Well... more. The stench of all the products on the market stalls was becoming unbearable, the mixture was not pleasant, of course in comparison to a Lycan it smelt like a bed of roses but that was beside the point. Still on his way focused on the beginning and ends of the stalls shadows, though he was still only at the beginning of the market street, then someone collided into his side, they had been so close as if they had been trying to be avoid being seen also. Ranvier used his senses, he could not feel the presence of any other stranded Vampire or a Lycan, though one of a rather low level of Malkavian ability, were they even aware of such a thing existing, or were they capable of masking their power signals? Hopefully not the latter or he could be in trouble. Turning around to try and gauge whom this power belonged to, he did not have to search for long as not two foot away, the person whom he assumed to have walked into him, turned to face him, there gazes met. Now this was odd, did she know something? He had not seen her previously, so maybe she was unaware of the whole Vampire thing. Well he could hope.
The coat billowed around Ranvier’s ankles, it was quite an odd sensation, but this was clearly why Silas and Alex wore such garments. It was quiet, even with the busying of the little market people rushing around opening up shop, and yet the gaze between them did not break. A look of hard determination was plain in the girls face, now how was he to play this like a usual person, he doubted highly that she thought something was odd about him. Running his tongue over his teeth, he made sure he had definitely reverted. He had. It was in a way a little unnerving. So what to do, no point not being myself Ranvier thought to himself. Smiling down at the young woman he stated, “Hello there, can I help you?” he had been tempted to also add ‘you might like to return those items in yours pockets, it would be the decent thing.’ But decided against because then she really would be wary of him. All pressing concerns of the sun had vanished, he was more intrigued by the seemingly rogue Malkavian which stood before him.
((I hope thats ok! why did you go to sleep.. *glares*))

The young Malkavian dodged the streets and their people with ease. She had gotten used to this now, squatting in caves or in homes of people who had gone on holiday. It was a hard life for the seventeen year old but what could she do? Both her and her sister had been told they could never go home, their parents feared them but it wasnt her fault, how could it be? She had tried to tell Kallie it was wrong to use their powers, that their powers were a curse and not a gift but Kallie never believed her and now they were stuck in a world Nikki didnt want to be in. This was how they lived, Kallie stayed hidden and Nikki risked everything to bring her sister food. Over the years, Nikki had gotten strong and could hold her own against other people, but she hadnt got a clue things like Vampires or Lycans exsisted. Fairytales. How wrong she was about to become.
The sunlight beat down upon the blonde female as one of the stalls men threw something at her. "Hey!" Nikki half yelled, "Watch what you're doing would'ja!" Picking up the melon he threw at her, she smiled, "Thanks very much!" She managed to say before she ran off and out of the market. Ducking down some back alleys and then back onto the main street and into another section of the Market. Nikki hated living like this. She hated the constant headache she had which not even painkillers could cure. She rubbed her temples as the feeling in her head began to buldge and make her feel physically sick. Her telekenisis wasnt all that well developed and because the powet kept growing and she didnt know how to control it, it gave her a huge headache. Leaning on one of the walls, she rubbed her head, her brows furrowed and her legs felt weak. "Are you alright miss?" Came a voice as she opened her eyes, an elderly woman stood infront of her with a worried look on her face. "Yes ma'am I'm fine. Just got a little headache, thats all." With that severe understatement, Nikki moved on. Using the stalls barriers as a way of supporting herself. Though, the good thing about being Telekenetic was, she could move her headache out of her mind for a while. Which she did. "Thats better."
Whether it was because of her headache, or whether it was due to worry about Kallie that she hadnt been paying attention Nikki didnt know, though she had walked into a man who looked like he should be in some form of horror movie. His skin was deathly pale and in contrast to his dark hair, it just did look right on a day like this. He looked like he had seen one too many ghosts, and this of course, made Nikki a bit nervous. He could have been good looking for his age if he got a bit more colour into those cheeks of his. Apart from anything else, he was dressed in leather, and a long coat. Nikki was only in a t-shirt and jeans and even she was too warm. What on earth was wrong with this guy?
Nikki didnt answer him as she began to walk back up the street, no doubt in her mind whoever he was, he was following her. He may have known about the items in her pockets and be some kind of undercover detective for all she knew and might try and make her return the items. Which of course, she wouldnt. However, it didnt even occur to her that he might not care about the items in her pockets, that he might only care about what her power was. Of course, Nikki had thought she and Kallie were the only ones, then she met that guy. Robbie or whatever his name was. Turning back around, she noticed he was indeed following her, and he was still in the shadows. "Yes, I'm fine. No I dont want anything you might be selling, and you look like a complete fool wearing all that in this heat." Nikki folded her arms. "Is there a reason why you're following me?" Of course, she was being a bit bolder than usual, but there were a few people around, and many more down the street so if he tried anything, she would be able to scream.
